One reason our trip to Kerala -- can it be a whole year ago?? -- was so wonderful was that we were lucky enough to have Kareem as our driver. He was absolutely amazing, a very safe driver, very knowledgeable about the area, and very friendly. He invited us to have dinner at his home in Cochin, and we're so glad we did.
He's the proud owner of a three-room home and small garden in one of the older neighborhoods. To get to his house, we drove through some winding streets, parked, and then walked a short way between other houses. His wife and daughters had prepared a delicious Keralan meal, which we ate around a table squeezed into a bedroom, half of us sitting on the bed. After dinner his daughters showed us the garden. What a beautiful family!
