"I miss Aunt Carrie"

The other day while we were running errands, I heard a huge sigh coming from the back seat, where things had been rather quiet for a while.

"I miss Aunt Carrie," Evie said in her most pitiful voice. "When are we going to see Aunt Carrie again?"

She wasn't too happy to learn that we probably won't be seeing Aunt Carrie for a little over a year. So in honor of Favourite Aunt Carrie (don't worry other aunts ... you are also favorites), I'll post these photos of our trip to Mahabalipuram, even though we took them back in December.

The first few are from our lunch stop at the Radisson. If you look closely, you can just see the Shore Temple among the trees where the shore juts out above Samuel's head.

That's the Bay of Bengal behind our Samuel ... Every once in a while I need to pinch myself.

Why does Evie always seem to have the windblown supermodel look?
Johnny and Evie split a lobster, and they picked it clean. How am I going to tell them that lobster is not this inexpensive/available/tasty elsewhere? They're going to be so disappointed.

See? The windblown supermodel again.

After a great lunch, we climbed around the Descent of the Ganges, the Five Rathas and the Shore Temple. We also did a little shopping. I bought a couple of wall hangings in the Rajasthani patchwork style that are now hanging in my living room.

I love exploring Mahabalipuram. It's so ancient, but alive and accessible. If you come visit, I promise to take you there.
