We put our frantic sightseeing on hold last week for a lazy day at the beach.
Samuel used to be fearless, but a big wave knocked him over last time we were at Ideal Beach and he hasn't yet recovered. He spent most of Saturday in the sand. This is actually good for my blood pressure. He's much easier to keep track of on land.
This is Johnny's favorite thing to do at the beach ... well, this and jumping waves.
Evie's a huge fan of hunting shells. We always make her cull the collection a little before heading home.

Sarah borrowed Johnny's copies of the Kane Chronicles and got caught up on all things Egyptian.
We saw several fishermen from the nearby villages launching boats.
John always builds a sand castle when we're at the beach. Evie was a big help this time.
