An afternoon at Fort St. George

Kristina and I spent an afternoon wandering Fort St. George (and here), where we visited the museum and St. Mary's Church.

Cannon at the entrance to Fort St. George.

The altar at St. Mary's Church.

St. Mary's is the oldest Anglican church in India.

Memorial for a soldier who died of heat stroke.

View from the rear garden.

One of the old buildings surrounding the church garden.

Workers scale scaffolding to do restoration work on the church.

In the garden.

A woman leaves through the church's main door.

Some of the hundreds of motorcycles parked outside government offices in the fort.

A woman worships at a Hindu temple just outside the fort's entrance.
