New Year's Eve was a bit of a bust this time around. We got home from a long road trip (more on that coming soon) at 9 p.m. and, despite a burning desire to usher in 2013, Evie collapsed right into her pizza and Cheetos. Actually, I don't think she even made it to the pizza.
As you can see from this photo, Johnny and Samuel were going strong. Anyone surprised?

My kids are so funny when they're tired. The boys go crazy, and Evie just wilts and starts to cry. Not a very happy face for the New Year ...
Evie finally gave up and asked if we could just pretend to count down to midnight so she could go to bed. Of course, that's just what we did. Johnny and I are the only ones who made it all the way to midnight this time, but we had fun.
Actually, our trip down the coast and back was a great way to end 2012, which turned out to be a fantastic year for our family. We're looking forward to a great 2013, with lots of changes coming our way. Happy New Year to you, wherever you are, and may your year be a blessed and happy one!
