We paid tribute to the American worker by celebrating Labor Day at the beach. There's a nice little resort down the ECR (East Coast Road) called Ideal Beach, where you can pay a small fee to enjoy a beach with bathrooms, changing rooms, and not too many spectators. There are still a few dogs and even the occasional cow -- this is India, after all -- but there are plenty of attendants to shoo unwanted critters down the coast.

| Samuel and his friend Jane spent much of their time playing in the sand. There might also have been some tasting, but everyone's still alive and apparently healthy. |
 |
| Samuel is fearless when it comes to playing in the water. He's under the impression that he can swim, and no amount of dunking can change his opinion. |
Some friends of ours warned us that Ideal Beach should really be called Adequate Beach, but we think they might be too picky.
 |
| There's a fishing village bordering the resort. |
John had big plans for an awesome sand castle, but he abandoned the site to his "helpers."
Johnny played in the ocean for a while, but his idea of truly relaxing involves a book and a comfy place to read it. Oh yeah, and fresh lobster for lunch.

 |
| Evie and her friend Benjamin spent the ENTIRE day in the waves (except for lunch). |
And a good time was had by all. I tried to get a photo of the cow galloping down the beach, but it was too fast for me. They're always too fast.
